Good-Horsekeeping Expo
This is a one-of-a-kind (free admission) equine event . . . . featuring equine product vendors, tack sale tables, and a day of education speakers/panel discussions, and equine artist’s showcase, and an American Horse Publications “Meet & Greet” . . . located in southwest Michigan.
The Van Buren Conference Center is easily accessed from the I-94 Lawrence exit. The center is about 30 miles West of Kalamazoo, MI, 1.5 hours East of Chicago, and about 1.5 hours North of the MI/IN state line.
The expo trade show will run all day from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Here is the schedule for our panel discussions:
10:30-11 a.m. – Anke Lendeckel, owner of Nature’s Rehab, will cover “Massage & Other Therapies For Your Horse”.
11 a.m. -12 p.m. – Tom Guthrie – statewide extension educator for Michigan State University, will present a session on “Pasture Management”
12-12: 30 p.m. Brendt Harnish or Shadow Trailer World Michigan will present a session on “Spring Horse Trailer Maintenance”
12:30- 1:30 p.m. “How Safe Is Your Horse Habit” will be presented by Mark Epple Farm Bureau Insurance agent and Ken Milliman, Farm Bureau Insurance Director of Farm Underwriting.
1:30 -2:30 p.m. – “Horse Feeding 101 & the Importance of Keeping The Sugar/Starch Low In Your Horse’s Diet” will be covered by Cari Althouse of Tribute Feeds.
2:30-3:30 p.m. “Getting Your Horse Spring Ready” panel will feature Christy LaPorte, owner of CJ’s Body Works Equine Massage, Karin Bielefeld, Willowtree Equestrian Center- riding instructor/trainer, and Brian Evans, owner of Great Lakes Farrier Service. 3:30 – 4 p.m. – “Getting Your Child Involved in 4-H Horse Project” panel will be led by Wendy Fisher, a Van Buren County 4-H Horse Leader, and Dream Chasers Club member Dillon Fisher.
